Our client, a funded medtech startup, needed help in bringing their idea to MVP stage. We assisted them in designing, building and deploying the MVP of their new product in the Medtech space.
We developed a suite of applications for doctor appointment booking and GP office administration. The Patient app includes a chatbot which allows the patient to book, change or cancel an appointment using a chatbot on the GP’s website. The app takes payments, allows the patient to select their doctor and appointment, send confirmation to the patient and book the appointment in the GPs calendar. The second module is a SaaS doctor onboarding module which enables doctors to set their clinics up on the platform with their profile, staff members, calendar and payment mechanism. The GP admin app is designed to streamline the flow of patients through the clinic and allow all the staff to prepare, manage and follow up on each appointment.

We worked with our client from an early stage, right from the initial product research. Keeper kicked off a short Design Sprint which involved the classic UX/Product Design elements; UX workshops to map personas, user paths and define lo-fi UI which clarified the functionality and use-cases + scope of the product. In parallel, Keeper Architects used the designs and client preferences to map out the technical architecture of the product (which is serverless cloud-based and scalable). The initial consulting assignment involved a detailed design of Phase 1 Development. The Keeper Architect collaborated with our inhouse developers to specify the approximate set of dev tasks required to develop the initial three-module MVP.
Based on this a phased and costed plan for the agile development project was created and the scope for Phase 1; a 5-month development project involving a multifunctional team of 10 people; UX designer, Conversational Interface Designer, technical architect, project manager, full-stack developers, dev-ops consultant and software quality people. It went live in December 2019 and moved to beta testing with a dozen clients in Q1 of 2020. Once the product went live, Keeper scaled back the team to a core of two developers and a part-time Dev Ops consultant. This enabled the client to significantly reduce their monthly cash burn while the MVP was in beta, enabling discussions with VC investors for the next phase to take place. In the next (post-investment) phase it is planned that our client will build out its core team whilst growing its strategic partnership with Keeper.
Serverless, Gitlab, AWS, Slack, Amazon Connect, JIRA, Confluence, InVision.
Our client has been able to move from POC (Proof of Concept) to a working MVP including a suite of three modules for their market segment. The partnership has enabled them to access a diverse range of specialist design and development skills in a cost-effective manner. Our client has benefited from high speed to market whilst mitigating risk, with optimal use of limited financial resources.
